Outlook imap folders not updating

Rated 3.86/5 based on 780 customer reviews

We are a relatively small company so instead of purchasing exchange or using hosted exchange, we decided to use Go Daddy for standard pop/imap email accounts to save on the cost.Everything works great for the most part, except with our IMAP users. The emails are successfully "created" as I am able to fetch them from the destination folder after the execution of the APPEND command. The problem is that the newly created e-mails simply won't show up in Outlook. It is worth noting that the destination folder contains older e-mails (previously created with my script) which are still visible in Outlook.I removed all Outlook filters from the concerned folder but still there are no new emails showing up.Visit your Account Settings, then Advanced for the mail account that you are having trouble with.

There are a few ways to resolve the issue: One option is to remove the recent update that has been pushed out by Microsoft to Outlook 2013 and Office 365 users.

Click More Settings button then switch to the Advanced tab. Right click on the IMAP Inbox folder and choose IMAP folders.

At the bottom of the dialog is an checkbox for When displaying hierarchy in Outlook, show only the subscribed folders.

Remove the check then close the dialog to return to Outlook. If the IMAP account still doesn't work, Outlook is crashing, or you connect to Exchange 2007, you need to uninstall the updates or revert to an earlier build of Office 2013.

Go to Microsoft Office 2013 Click-to-Run virtualization to find the previous version number.
